Frequently Asked Etching Questions and Answers
The following common etching problems are all original.
We often encounter many technical issues during the daily etching process.

What is the minimum size of holes that can be etched, and what is the spacing and precision of the holes?
The minimum opening is related to the material thickness. The minimum opening that can be made at present is 0.1mm, but the thickness of the material must be 0.03-0.05mm. Taking 0.1mm thick stainless steel as an example, a hole spacing of 0.1mm can be made. The maximum depth accuracy reaches+/-0.0075mm. Correspondingly, the thicker the material, the larger the opening and the wider the spacing between the holes. The general ratio of opening to thickness is: ∧=1.5 * T
(1) What materials can Yaoda Fa etch/corrode?
Yao Dafa currently focuses on etching/corrosion of metal materials such as stainless steel (304, 301, 430), copper, and copper alloys, and also processes rare metals such as molybdenum. Aluminum has not been processed yet.
(2) What is the thickness of the material that Yaoda can etch and process?
At present, the main material thickness for etching processing is 0.02-1.0mm. Thicknesses above 1.0mm can be produced, but selectively, precision requirements are the main criteria.
(3) What is the minimum size of holes that can be etched, and what is the spacing and accuracy of the holes?
The minimum etching opening is related to the material thickness. At present, the minimum etched hole is 0.1mm, but the thickness of the material must be 0.03-0.05mm. Taking stainless steel with a thickness of 0.1mm as an example, a hole spacing of 0.1mm can be achieved. The maximum depth accuracy reaches+/-0.0075mm. Correspondingly, the higher the material, the larger the opening and the wider the spacing between the holes.
(4) Is the wall of the hole vertical? Are there any burrs?
The effect of etching process on the hole wall is related to the thickness of the material. The thinner the thickness, the perpendicular the hole wall, without curling edges or burrs.

(6) What is the minimum line width that can be etched?
The minimum line width for etching can be achieved at 0.05mm, and the formula for the ratio of aperture to thickness for material thickness below 0.1mm is: ∧=1.5 * T aperture=material thickness * 1.5 times (Generally speaking, the diameter of the etched hole and the width of the line cannot be less than 1.1 times the thickness of the metal. Arc radius: The arc radius of etching is directly related to the thickness of the metal. The minimum radius of the outer radius is 0.75 times the thickness of the metal, and the minimum radius of the inner radius should be equal to the thickness of the metal. If the radius cannot reflect the radius well, a dotted line can be used to draw the center of the circle to obtain two radii.)
(7) What is the maximum size/area that can be achieved?
The area of etching/corrosion products that Yaoda Fa can currently produce is 1500mm in length, with a width of preferably within 200mm. If it is a square, it can be 800 * 800
(8) What is the monthly output of the company (based on 300 * 400mm/sheet area)?
Yao Dafa currently produces approximately 2000-3000 thousand sheets per day in 8 hours (3000-5000 square meters per month), and plans to continue expanding production capacity in the future. In June 2012, once our automatic exposure machine is in place, our production capacity will double.
(9) Etching process will generate connection points. Inquire with the customer about the location and size of the connection points.
Flat etching products will have connection points. Thin material: a material with a thickness of 0.1-0.3m, with a connection point size of about 0.5mm, and the connection points of thick products are correspondingly increased. Try to place the connection point on the parallel straight edge of the product as much as possible. There are two types of connection point designs: protruding and notched. Generally, functional products are designed with a concave shape, while exterior products are designed with a convex shape, without connecting points.
(10) Half etching product half etching depth and accuracy.
The depth of the semi etched product can be controlled, with the shallowest depth reaching 0.05mm until it is etched through. The depth accuracy tolerance can reach ± 0.0075mm.

(11) The flatness (warpage) and scratch resistance requirements of the product.
The flatness of a product is related to its thickness and surface size. The thinner the thickness, the better the flatness, and the best flatness can reach ± 0.02mm, requiring special material specifications; All products are scratch resistant and scratch resistant.
(12) Can electroplating, bending, adhesive backing and other subsequent processing be carried out.
We can outsource electroplating processing, and Yaodafa can provide stamping and bending processing. Correspondingly, there are also cooperative manufacturers of adhesive backing.

(13) Packaging issues.
Packaging is generally carried out according to customer requirements. Special packaging generally requires prior explanation. Yao Dafa''s packaging products are generally packaged in cardboard boxes with dividers and padding, achieving safety, simplicity, and environmental friendliness.
(14) The lowest sampling fee and batch production quotation, and the fastest delivery time for sampling.
For sample making, Yao Dafa generally charges a minimum fee of 500 yuan. It can be determined based on the difficulty level of the product, as well as the industry in which the product is applied. The sample cost for complex products is generally 1000-2000 yuan. The price of bulk products is determined based on product size specifications, materials used and thickness, precision control requirements, and the overall quantity and size of the batch. The sample delivery time is generally 2-3 days, and the batch production delivery time is generally 5-7 days. Cooperate and quote in a fair, reasonable, and honest manner.
(15) Shipping method.
Yao Da Fa usually delivers goods in the form of express delivery and also provides home delivery services.
(16) Payment method.
The sample fee is generally operated in the form of cash advance payment or courier collection. The bulk shipping fee is in the form of a deposit plus payment according to the agreement between both parties
